January 2016

The beginning of a New Year is always a time for reflecting on goals and how we can achieve more success in the future. It gives us insight on where we might have strayed from our initial goals. It also helps us realign ourselves and stay focused or change directions altogether. Sometimes it is ok to take a step back and look at where we have been, and go exploring to gain new insight. Lessons learned during this time can never be disregarded and concidered a waist of time. It is a growing and learning experience. Questions and doubts become answered so one can move forward. When ready, and only then can the passion return to our creative lives.

This painting is one which has an emotional impact for me. Although it is a place I returned to from my past, I created this one during the end of 2015 while completing it January 2016.

Spring is Just Around the Corner

March 2nd, 2015

It's hard to believe how fast this past year has gone! Spring will be hear soon with many new paintings waiting to be created. In the past two years, I have not done as many paintings as I would have liked to. However, timehas not been wasted at all!. I have been letting my creative juices flow, exploring new places, and learning new things that might have not been realized at the time that can enhance my artwork.

With my travels, I have seen the beautiful Smokey Mountains of Tennasee, Skyline Drive and the Shanandoah Natiional Park in North Carolina, and Runyon Park in California to name a few. I have driven to Florida, but did not see the land as well from the drivers perspective as I did as from being a passenger uncaged on the back of a Harley. What I love about taking trip on the bike is that there is much time spent on foot exploring since it is neccessary to take breaks more often than traveling by car. Also your senses get woken up by the sights and smells of the earth. The trees, flowers, and just the nature gives off an aroma that is unique to that area.

So when standing outside and painting plein aire, I can really focus on the beauty of a particular scene by becoming totallty absorbed by the natural beauty and how it truly makes one feel.

Looking foward to getting out and painting in future weeks.....First we need the weather to co-operate and stop snowing and having freezing rain.

See Ya Soon!
